Fifth Form have been building rockets out of snips and snails and puppy dog tails.
They fly quite well though…

mine was clearly beter than those
it flew out of sight
Only using A and B engines so far!
what did we use when we got it really high
and whose was the one that was found in oxford
C engines are the largest of the small diameter engines that we used. I can’t remember whose rocket ended up being found by Mrs Nicholl in Summertown. We fired our first ‘cluster rocket’ today. Three B engines connected with quickmatch (string made from gunpowder) and ignited simultaneously. It went well so we are going to try again with three C engines.
How did the c cluster go? I’ve taken a C6:7 to 760 metres but i dread to think how high a cluster of Cs would have gone……assuming the rocket didnt cg/cp mismatch :/
It was a very heavy machine so it didn’t go very far but it was noisy and smokey and generally wonderful!
HCTR – an old student of urs here!! discovered you on twitter the other day and just wondered if you’d like to catch up. i think it has been a while!
My Batman rocket was the best. Period.
Your bat design was the stuff of legend but these guys have produced some very original ideas.
But mine had curved wings! Curved I tell you!
very fun sir
