I am getting fed up with how quickly you all seem to answer my competition questions so I am going to try again!
All you have to do is identify the following sound.
I have not chosen a prize yet but I will bend my mind to it. Good luck!
[Only SF boys eligible to win the prize - sorry.]

The new vid doesn’t work , dunno why.
No, every time I update the site it stops working in school. Very annoying!
Is it something to do with lasers or stuff like that?
Not lasers. It is a toughie but as I said, I am fed up with you being so intelligent!
Like you said to Caspar when you update the video. it still does not work
Sounds like a lazer gun (like the one in James Bond)
It does sound exactly like the ‘Moonraker’ guns – but it isn’t.
or it is that new video game with avatars (not Avatar the movie)
It is all natural…
Firstly i would like to ask, is this noise lava bubbling?
However I just wanted to know if I am on the right track. Is it some substance bubbling?
No. But it is a natural phenomenon.
Is it a guitar with an amplifier just play a chord in a different sound?
No, it’s a natural sound.
Is it an avalanche in a forest?
Interesting, but no.
One of the things about about Moonraker is that guns would not sound in space, so there should be no sound effects.
My Dad says is it from a plant whiplashing or something?
The list of things that makes Moonraker absurd could make a website on its own. The book is much better, if also highly implausible.
The sound is not from a living organism.
it sounds like a spring
or it could be the wind hitting something?
The sound of sound pulses in an amplifier gone wrong
It is a naturally occurring noise, possibly audible in more places these days as a result of Climate Change…
Is it a slowed down recording of a lightning strike?
It’s the sound of a glacier breaking and falling?
Yes – it is the sound of a glacier melting!
Is it some sort of explosion?
George, how are you? Not well enough to read my comment above obviously…
